Bergischer HC (in Magdeburg) and GWD Minden (in Berlin) each face Herculean tasks on Sunday afternoon. In addition, Wetzlar and Hamburg, two neighbors in the table, will face each other, and Lemgo will host Stuttgart.

Sunday, 12 October:

SC Magdeburg vs. Bergischer HC (15:00 CEST, live on HBL TV)
  • After the draw at Erlangen, SC Magdeburg maintained its status as one of three undefeated teams in the league with a narrow victory in Hamburg and are currently third with 11:1 points.
  • Omar Ingi Magnusson contributed 15 goals in Hamburg, extending his lead in the DAIKIN HBL scoring list to 64 strikes – even though he has played one game less.
  • Three days after their first win of the season against Wetzlar, the BHC continues its campaign, while the SCM played in the Champions League at GOG in Denmark on Wednesday.
  • After his gala performance in the final phase in Hamburg, SCM goalkeeper Sergey Hernandez is second in the DAIKIN HBL statistics with 64 saves.
  • SCM have won the last seven games against BHC, with the last defeat coming at home with a 27:31 score in October 2021, the only away win for the Bergische Löwen in the GETEC Arena. Magdeburg has 20 wins to BHC's four.
Füchse Berlin vs. GWD Minden (16:30 CEST, live on HBL TV)
  • After three consecutive victories, most recently 38:35 in Erlangen, Füchse Berlin have moved up to fifth place in the table.
  • Newcomers Minden have lost their last four matches, losing 24:34 to Lemgo on the seventh match day.

  • In the cup, Berlin won against Wetzlar in round 2, while Minden were eliminated by Eisenach.
  • In the 2022/23 season, both clubs won their home games, and overall, the record is not so clear-cut, with 22:15 wins in favour of the Füchse.
TBV Lemgo Lippe vs. TVB Stuttgart (16:30 CEST, live on HBL TV)
  • TBV Lemgo are racing from victory to victory and are unbeaten in six games with five wins and one draw, most recently 34:24 in Minden. The reward is fourth place in the table.
  • TVB Stuttgart has only picked up one point from their last four games, most recently losing 29:31 to Melsungen, and is in 15th place in the table with 4:10 points.
